What is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction?

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is a wondrous, inward journey that takes you to the root of who you are.

It is a means to find answers and to observe what is working, and to address what is not working, in your life: from your health to your work, to relationships, and to lifestyle.

It is intensive training in mindfulness through:

  • formal Mindfulness Meditation techniques,
  • Mindful Yoga,
  • informal applications in everyday life,
  • stimulating, insightful dialogue,
  • exercises and homework.

It includes the study of stress, its causes, and the science behind MBSR,
as well as other, related scientific research.

Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, the founder of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program, calls this work, “weaving your parachute.”
