What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is simply being fully aware of what your are doing, while you
are doing it. This awareness allows you to make better choices, and affect
the quality of your day.
To become more aware, you must develop the ability to observe, question
and contemplate yourself in an accepting, non-judgmental way.
In practice, Mindfulness is an ever-growing awareness of what you think, say and do…and the consequences that result. With practice, the awareness deepens to become insight into what motivates you: your fears, perceptions, filters, conditioning, likes and dislikes. This knowledge helps you transform stress to serenity, sadness to joy.
Mindfulness is a skill, or ability, that can be acquired through instruction in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MSBR), which is a tested combination
of Mindfulness meditation, Yoga and dialogue.
"Meditation and Yoga are both ancient, mindful practices to bring you more fully into the present…into the moment. Opportunity exists in the present moment for discovery of your true self, for insight, and for healing. If the opportunity is here and now, and you're not, you miss the opportunity."
